Each year, in celebration of Women’s History Month, LACCW “recognizes women who work to bring about social and economic change, promote women’s equality, serve as outstanding role models, work on behalf of women’s issues, and demonstrate outstanding performance to further advocate women’s rights for over 5 million women in Los Angeles County.” Attended by over 520 people, the awards ceremony took place at the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles on March 18th. Among 16 women, CPAF’s Executive Director was honored for her community activism.

International Women's
Day Dinner

In celebration of International Women’s Day, one of CPAF’s transitional programs hosted a dinner for residents, staff, and volunteers. During the evening, each group member shared how the holiday is honored in their country of origin and participated in an art activity exploring their dreams and goals for the future.

CPAF Participates in the Domestic Violence
Informational Hearing in Sacramento

Livestreamed on February 27th, CPAF’s Community Program Director, Natchawi Wadman, represented the Culturally Responsive Domestic Violence Network (CRDVN) and on behalf of CPAF for the Assembly Select Committee on Domestic Violence's Informational Hearing in Sacramento. Natchawi shares, “It was an honor to be part of the policy advocacy work on February 27th for the Assembly Select Committee Hearing on Domestic Violence addressing the importance of prevention work and economic security supporting survivors and prevention. CPAF's youth programs and the emphasis of culturally specific and culturally responsive approaches were highlighted to reiterate the importance of more violence prevention funding and uplifting economic security work as a violence prevention strategy. CPAF will continue the journey to take up spaces and bring youth voices and the unique needs of API communities to the table advocating for what is appropriate and relevant to communities. I am proud to be part of the movement to amplify the work and voices."
